That's MY line, Soldier!

I know what many of you are thinking!  You’ve seen the title of this post and are shaking your head, saying, “Bill’s about to start talking about General Douglas MacArthur and his historic promise to return in triumph to the Philippines!  Hey, that’s a good guess, but not this time (maybe one day soon, though)!

I could have called this week’s post “I’ll be back,” but then you’d think I’d be writing about Arnold!  (And if you are thinking, “Arnold who?” then you are reading the wrong blog!

Nope, actually, I am writing about me because this is my first “non-post.”  I don’t have a topic today because I am wrapping up a glorious week in Orlando at Disney’s awe-inspiring Animal Kingdom Lodge.  This is the third year in a row that Renee and I have ventured to our fantasy getaway by ourselves, but this year was extra special.  This week, we are celebrating Renee’s turn at welcoming in the “Big Five-OH!” Happy birthday, honey!

But I didn’t want to forget about you guys, either!  I will always do my best to have a post for you each Friday, rain or shine!  So keep these words as a placeholder, because I will post a special report before next Friday.  Not only will I have a story or two to share about venturing into Neverland and the magic of Walt Disney, I’ll also give you my review of my most anticipated film of the year, The Avengers! Hey, my nickname has not been “Captain America” for 45 years by coincidence!  The heroes will “assemble” in theaters today and I’ll find time somehow in the next few days to go see it and share my thoughts.  (Plus I’ll ride the Avengers-decorated monorail at the Magic Kingdom and post a photo, as promised to my Facebook tormentors)!

Look for me front row center!

Then, next Friday (May 11), I’ll post my annual tribute to mothers for my third annual Mothers’ Day post.  Those posts were the most read ones of the year in 2010 and 2011, so I hope I won’t disappoint you this year.

So please accept my rain check for this week.  I’ll make it up to you.  Until then, Happy Birthday to my own Disney Princess!  For the rest of you … I SHALL RETURN!

He should have said "I'll be BACK" instead!
