0/12 – Prelude: The Strands of the Void!

Welcome to my new back-up series to issue #4 of Void.  I call it “The Strands of the Void” and it’s designed to layout for you the connections between my 2009 award-winning novel, I Know why the Dogwoods Blush and its 2012 sequel, Dove of War.

Where does Void fit into this picture?  I’m glad you asked!

Unless you’ve just begun following Void, you know that this tale was originally designed to be a short (20-25 pages) bridge between these two novels.  But Deacon Void had other ideas.  His story is now planned to last a robust 12-issues.  Planned at 24-25 pages per issue, we are now looking at 300-pages of graphic art spectacle.  I am very pleased with this plan as I hope are you, dear reader, but although his story has expanded, the initial premise … linking Dogwoods Blush to Dove of War … remains prime directive #1.

For the next 12-weeks (each Thursday, with the exception of a special feature for the week of July 4), I will spotlight a character or premise within Void that links these worlds together in one universe following a pre-determined timeline.

I won’t give away all my secrets.  To fully appreciate the links among these characters, you’d have to read the novels and continue following the web-comic, but I hope this planned series will whet your appetite for the present and prepare you for the intensity that’s coming with Dove of War! It’s unlike anything I’ve ever written and I hope you’ll find it as thrilling by reading it as I found it by writing it!

Coming Thursday, 28 June 2012:  Part 1/12 – The Strands of the Void:  Enter the Void!

Follow me, and stay close behind! I sense great danger ahead!

YEA!!!! Always love background info!!!!

Thanks, Tisa. I really enjoyed writing this back-up feature and hope you’ll like it too. You see some of the obvious links and some not so obvious between Dogwoods, Void, and Dove! :)

Great photo, like the way you are linking all, and will follow you bet. Keep the light shining for me.

Thanks, Eva. Writing and publishing VOID has been the most fun I’ve EVER had in fictional writing. I hope it shows and I hope that same fun is shared by all who read it. :)
