Uh … just how OLD is Void? And what is with that name?

His age is part of the mystery! But the name should not surprise you. Where have you seen it before?

Plus, you should already know her first name as well!

I know. Was just wondering where YOU came up with the name … or was this told to you? :-)

Mr. Void tells me that his given name, “Crispin,” was bestowed in honor of Saint Crispin, one of Christian twins (the other being Crispinian) martyred in 286. The name is best associated with the Battle of Agincourt (1415) and dramatized by Shakespeare in Henry V. King Henry’s “Saint Crispin’s Day Speech” inspired his much outnumbered English forces to fight the French, saying “the fewer men, the greater share of honour.” “We few … we chosen few … we band of brothers. For he who sheds his blood with me this day shall be my brother!” And that’s why the man known as Void was originally named “Crispin.”

I’m rusty on this part of history. Sounds good though. How did you get the idea for this part. The 666 is brought together superbly. I have never head of St. Crisp in. Did you know before your London days?

Absolutely! I know you were there on 1 April 1996, the day I was promoted to LTC. I showed a film clip that day from Danny DeVito’s “Renaissance Man.” The scene in the rain shows the soldiers quoting Henry V, the Battle of Agincourt, and the feast of St. Crispin. “And gentlemen now in England safely in bed will think themselves they are accursed that they were not here. They shall bow there heads and hold their manhood cheap when in the presence of any who stand with me this day. In years to come, men will strip their sleeves and show their scars and say, ‘These are the wounds I carry from Saint Crispin’s Day!’” Deacon Void comes from good stock! :)

Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he’ll remember with advantages
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words,
Harry the King, Bedford, and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester,
Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb’red.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-

I had to read up on this and remember the movie. I do remember now you showing a clip….the day of your promotion was awesome and fun. Great day. So this hint, “to the end of the world.”. Sometimes tells me this has something to do with void.
