8/12: Casting VOID – The Witch of Endor (Angelina Jolie)!

The beautiful but deadly Louhi Waterhouse. Note the eyes!

One thing I learned while writing I Know Why the Dogwoods Blush was that when thoughts move from the mind to the paper, characters change and evolve.  Some grow, some shrink, and some undergo a complete metamorphosis.  In the ongoing saga of Void, no character evolved more than the evil Louhi Waterhouse, aka the “Witch of Endor!”

I have long believed that witches are underused in the horror genre, so as I was trying to develop a cast of villains to oppose Deacon Void, a witch seemed like a good idea.  And so, the beautiful but evil Louhi Waterhouse came to be.  Hanged for witchcraft in England in 1612, Louhi somehow survived and still plagues mankind to this day.  Nicknamed “Witch of Endor” by Void (after the Biblical witch who deceived King Saul in the Bible, Book of I Samuel), she grew from a casual villain to a MAJOR player opposing Void and his crew on his mysterious path of redemption.  Teamed with vicious female vampire Maria Taliffero, you can be certain that the blood flows freely in London’s East End after midnight.

The perfect female actor to bring Louhi to life on screen would be Academy Award winning actress Angelina Jolie.  She’s already played a similar character in the CGI epic, Beowulf, and is well know as an action star thanks to fast-paced films like Salt, Wanted and Mr. & Mrs. Smith.  She may be beautiful, but watch those fangs, boys!  An encounter with Louhi likely means the end of the line for you and everyone you hold dear!  She is possibly the most dangerous foe standing against the enigma of a man who speaks to us from … the Void!

Jolie as the Witch Mother to Grendel in BEOWULF!

Coming Next Week:  Peter Drissell, Reporter, London Lighthouse!

Of all the choices you have made for actors to play these roles, this is the best by far. Her whole being screams out wickedness with an almost playful side to it all. GREAT CHOICE!!!

Thanks, Tisa. Yes, Louhi may APPEAR to be playful, but she’s as evil as they come! Her “war” with Void will last the entire series and will definitely be costly not only to our main man but to his allies … ONE in PARTICULAR!
