Issue #1: “Let Man Put Asunder!”

Welcome at last to the relaunch of VOID!  Thursday, prepare to experience the dark secrets of this mysterious character we only know as Deacon Void.  It’s gonna be a trip that will shock you!  I hope you’ll enjoy the ride.

Each new story arc will feature a new cover by a different artist and interpretation of our enigmatic investigator.  (It will take 12 arcs to tell the story, each arc being roughly 24 pages).  Each cover will be full color and feature art by some of my best friends and accomplished pros in the comic art business.  Issue #1 is by the immensely talented Scott Reed.  Scott has helped me tremendously over the years and was the artist in my efforts to pitch Night Terror as a comic series.  One page of his art in that portfolio was published in my 2009 novel, I Know Why the Dogwoods Blush! Check out Scott’s work and webpage at:

Thursday, February 3, the comic adventure begins.  Are you brave enough to enter … the Void?

Truly can’t wait. Three days to wait . . . I think I could do that standing on my head. Just don’t ask me to hold my breath. :-)

I actually look at the cover as the new start. What do you think of it?

LOVE IT!!!!! Kind of scary and ghost-like. And you know how much I LOVE ghosts!!!!

Well, when people ask me to describe DOGWOODS BLUSH in one word, I usually say “ghosts.” DOVE OF WAR? “Monsters!” VOID? Hmmmmm. Too early to say! :)

Phantom!!! Maybe that would have been a better word of choice.

Phantom is a GREAT word! I like it! In fact, I plan to do “homages” to various characters from comics over the years who inspired my take on VOID. One is “The Phantom” and another is “The Phantom Stranger.” So you are right on track! :)
